These terms apply to tickets for the Salesforce FIDE World Championship in Geneva (22 November – 12 December 2026) bought on this website.
1. Seller
Tickets are sold by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE), Avenue de Rhodanie 54, 1007 Lausanne, Switzerland ("FIDE", "we"). Contact: [email protected].
2. Tickets
- VIP day pass: all-day access to the VIP lounge and the fan zone, and access to the playing hall during the slot chosen at purchase (about one hour).
- Fan Zone Pass: all-day access to the fan zone. It does not include the playing hall or the VIP lounge.
- Fan Zone Pass types: standard; student; ages 7–17; under 7 (free); companion of a guest with a disability (free). Proof of status, age or eligibility may be requested at entry; if it is not shown, entry may be refused without refund.
- Free tickets are issued only together with at least one paid ticket in the same order. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Each ticket is valid for the day shown on it (for VIP, also for the slot shown on it) and admits one person.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include VAT where applicable. Prices differ by day and may change at any time; the price shown when your tickets are reserved is the price you pay.
- Payment is made with the methods offered at checkout and processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see your card details.
- A promo code applies under its own conditions (validity, number of uses, eligible tickets). One code per order.
- An order may contain up to the number of tickets shown in the shop.
4. Order
Your tickets are reserved for a limited time, shown at checkout. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. Your tickets are then sent to your email address as a PDF, with one QR code per ticket. If they do not arrive, contact [email protected].
5. No right of withdrawal
Tickets are for an event on specific dates: once bought, they cannot be cancelled, exchanged or refunded, except as set out in section 6.
6. Changes and cancellations
- The match may end before game 14, and the tie-break is played only if needed. If a game day is cancelled or not played, every ticket for that day is refunded automatically to the original means of payment, at the price paid, and you are told by email. Tickets for other days remain valid.
- If the times of a game day change, your tickets remain valid and updated tickets are sent to you.
- VIP: if the game ends before your playing hall slot, you will be offered compensation or another slot of your choice.
- No other refunds are made, including if you cannot attend.
7. Entry
Entry requires a valid ticket; each QR code is checked at the entrance. The attendance rules apply to everyone at the venue; not following them may lead to removal without refund.
8. Resale and transfer
Tickets may not be resold or transferred without FIDE's written consent. Tickets obtained from unauthorised sellers may be cancelled without refund.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, FIDE is liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. FIDE is not liable for personal belongings lost, stolen or damaged at the venue.
10. Force majeure
If the event or a game day cannot take place for reasons beyond FIDE's control, section 6 applies.
11. Personal data
We use your email address and your order to process the order, send your tickets and contact you about the event. Payments are processed by Stripe. Details are in our privacy notice.
12. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Lausanne, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
